Bow After Hours, is an adults-only, series designed with guests ages 18+ in mind. Take part in indoor and outdoor activities, and revel in relaxed, adult-exclusive access to the Discovery Centre and Aquariums. Being an adult has never been this much fun!
At Gettin’ Fishy With It, we're diving deep. Take a plunge into all things fish - from habitats to lifecycles and adaptations. We’re taking you on a journey from eyed egg to whitewater warrior – it’s a cutthroat life! Join us at Canada’s largest indoor hatchery, where over 1.3 million trout are raised each year, for an evening of science, art and entertainment – but this time without the kids.
What's on the menu for Gettin’ Fishy With It?
- Uncover the ins and outs of Canada’s largest indoor fish hatchery, with an inside look at the Incubation Room.
- Take part in the feeding frenzy with thousands of hungry rainbow trout.
- Journey into the river woodlands - where fish meets forest – for a guided nature walk to deepen your connection to our urban forests.
- Grab a seat in the theatre to investigate the mystery of the disappearing fish.
- Practice your side-arm cast at our newly reopened Kids Can Catch Trout Pond.
- Delight in delectable bites, and tantalizing trout-inspired cocktails, all to be enjoyed in our cocktail garden.
- School together with our community partners from Parks Canada, the Alberta Native Trout Collaborative, the University of Calgary, the Bow River Basin Council and Trout Unlimited Canada for additional fishy activities and prizes that will be sure to make a splash!

Trout Without a Doubt
Grab a seat in the theatre to investigate the mystery of the disappearing fish. Follow in the finsteps of Alberta’s native trout and flex your pectoral fins to help move this fight upstream. Piece together the clues as you delve into species adaptations and habitat hooking a sustainable future for trout, without a doubt.

Fish Feeding
It's not your average snack-time! Aid the next generation of trout for release by feeding thousands of trout in the Fish Hatchery.
Where Fish Meets Forest Nature Walk
Healthy aquatic habitats require healthy landscapes. This guided walk will highlight the key features that help support fish in their underwater habitats, deepening your connection to Calgary’s green spaces and our urban forests.

As the evening unfolds, indulge in signature trout-themed cocktails by Confluence Distilling.

Bow After Hours is an adult only program. Minors (under the age of 18) are not permitted.
This program is not included with your annual Bow Habitat Station membership.
Tickets can be purchased online in advance, or you can take your chances by purchasing your tickets on-site on the day of the event.

Pre-purchased tickets are strongly encouraged. To ensure the best possible guest experience this program has limited tickets available for sale.
Doors open at 6:00 PM. We recommend giving yourself two hours to enjoy the programs and activities.
Admission includes entry to all programming and one entry per person to feed the fish in the Fish Hatchery.

Beer, canned cocktails and craft cocktails will be available for purchase by Confluence Distilling. Please note: drinks must be enjoyed in designated areas.
Cocktail garden opens at 6:00 PM, with last call at 10:00 PM. The garden will remain open until 10:30 PM.
Limited free parking is available in the lot for Pearce Estate Park. Consider an eco-friendly mode oftransportation including biking, busing or carpooling.
Your safety is our top priority, if you will be consuming any alcoholic beverages please arrange for a safe ride home.
Promotional coupons and vouchers are not valid for this program. With extra activities in place, discounts are not applicable to any admission rates for this program (i.e. Canoo, Access2, City of Calgary Fair Entry).

Bow Habitat Station and the Fish Hatchery are fully wheelchair accessible. The classrooms, theatre, exhibits and hatchery welcome visitors of all abilities. An elevator is available for visitor use to access the Discovery Centre spanning two floors.
